Privacy & data practices

TNL Mock Trial is a legal-preparation service. We are not a law firm, we do not give legal advice, and contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship.

What we collect

From you: what you enter in the path finder quiz and the get-help form — legal category, state and county, dates you provide, whether you have an attorney, your notes, and your email only if you check the box asking us to email you.

From public sources: the text of publicly available posts (for example public Reddit posts, Craigslist listings, indexed public web pages), the post URL, and the public username attached to it.

Analytics: anonymous funnel events — page views, quiz starts and completions, and signup clicks — tied to a random session id in your browser, not to your identity.

What we never do

  • We do not log into any platform as you, or read private messages, private groups, or non-public feeds.
  • We do not scrape behind a login or bypass any platform's terms or technical controls.
  • We do not sell or rent your information.
  • We do not auto-send messages. A person reviews and approves every outreach draft first.
  • We do not give legal advice or predict the outcome of your case.

How public posts are handled

Public posts are scored by our detection system and drafted responses are held in a review queue. Nothing is sent until a human approves it. Posts that show distress, involve a possible minor, or disclose violence are flagged and excluded from marketing outreach entirely.

Collected public post text is retained for 90 days and then eligible for deletion, unless it became part of an active member relationship or we're required to keep it.

Your choices

You can ask us to never contact you, or to delete information we collected about you, at any time on the opt-out page. Opt-out handles are checked on every future scan and skipped automatically.

If you gave us your email for updates, every message includes an unsubscribe link and you can also opt out at the link above.

Security

Data is stored in our managed backend with row-level access rules. Only accounts with an explicit admin or reviewer role can read lead, intake, or compliance records, and every review decision is written to an audit log with the reviewer's identity and timestamp.
